Is indoor aerobics as beneficial as outdoor exercise?
The latest games console the Nintendo Wii fit lets players to select from currently 48 activities across four major categories: yoga styles, upper body strength games, anaerobic exercises, and balancing exercises. To play such games, the user has to stand on the wireless Nintendo Wii Balance Board device that comes with the game. This board, which appears as if it's a slightly larger than normal bathroom slate, supports weights of as much as 300 pounds or so. It uses by four AA batteries so ensure that you get a battery charger as it can be a nuisance without one. There are around four sensors within the device which determine where your feet are placed. They can also check your centre of gravity, and display your body weight.
Exercises allow the player to run on the spot or use a variety of yoga poses. These sorts of games can provide effective workouts, but they are definitely not as effective as a thorough workout at the gym. it's difficult to say exactly how less useful they are, but I will mention that they're a very good start, but not the greatest type of workouts to use.
