Chinese tea is a strong provider of polyphenols, which are antioxidants . These have similar wellbeing properties to vitamin C. Healthy Chinese tea contain multiple main polyphenols, while the most prominent chemical is epigallocatechin gallate, called EGCG. This is the most common component of green tea.
Tea can also contain caffeine, a large stimulant, although in much smaller quantities than can be found in other teas or within coffee.
