Lately I've believed that the effective way to get healthy and lose a bit of weight is to step up my game and run to the gymnasium a bit more often. I have said it before and I will say it again, jogging outdoors just is not for me. Around Winter it is too cold, and in Summer it is far too warm. The in-between seasons are not too bad, but I'd rather stay in the air-conditioned gymnasium and run on the treadmill there. For those of you that aren't willing to go to the gymnasium, you can still get an incredibly effective work out indoors.
You are also able to try workout movies so that you are able to work out when you are indoors even when it is raining outdoors. It might also be worth unearthing that bike equipment that you've got in the basement. Jogging machines are falling in cost and you can find fairly inexpensive machines now. I am also trying to eat somewhat healthier, I'm cutting out the rich and fatty food and getting more salads.
