Healthy tea is a strong provider of polyphenols, which are antioxidants . These have similar beneficial properties to vitamin C. Healthy green tea contain a number of main polyphenols, although the most common chemical is epigallocatechin gallate, commonly referred to as EGCG. This is the most common part of green tea.
Healthy green tea can also contain caffeine, a huge stimulant, although in much lesser quantities than can be found in other teas or than in coffee.
